Americans like it short; hence, an elaborate The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic now turns to a snappy Confessions of a Shopaholic. This is the first one among the series and revolves around Rebecca/Becky Bloomwood, the financial journalist who cant fix her own financial glitches and is heavily burdened by loans. Its her intense shopping addiction (shopaholism) that stays responsible. Becky is a Londoner, staying at Fulham, with an apartment-mate, Suze. Becky is bored with her job; she seeks psychological kicks through overspending.
Rebecca Bloomwood resides at Fulham, London and shares her apartment with Suze. Becky is bored with her job and it seems that to break the monotony, it is shopping that she always chooses. But Becky is also honest by nature, as she frankly admits her lack of knowledge on personal finance is responsible for piling up debt on her credit card. Beckys biggest weaknesses are designer homeware, fashionable apparel and beauty products and all these lead her to an unending cycle of debt. Still, she keeps accepting the offers for other different credit and store cards; this time, in order to invest and rationalize her overspending habits, which she does by buying birthday gifts for her friends.
An intense shopaholic habit now starts affecting Beckys professional life. Her route to a press conference deflects to a shop displaying a bargain sign. She chooses a scarf but since she left her card at the office, requests the shop owner to reserve it for her. She promises to pick it up at the end of day. Becky manages doing so, after creating some mid-sized blunders at the press conference. Now, she is to meet the biggest heartbreak of her life and despite repeated requests from the manager of the bank she holds an account with, to correct her financial status, she goes for a bizarre roller coaster ride towards solving her credit problems.
The movie is a light one with a bubbly if not sweet performance by Isla Fisher as Rebecca Bloomwood. Though Becky always wanted a job with a fashion oriented magazine, she somehow finds her way into the same publishing house, but to their financial magazine. So there she is with an unbelievably low credit score and shes dishing out advice to others about finance, investments, debts and what not. This doesnt seem to impress debt collecting agent Derek Smeath, played by Robert Stanton. All of this leads to Becky falling in love with, you got it, her rich, rich, rich entrepreneur boss Luke Brandon.
This is a story that shall inspire awe in a viewer. To get hold of a copy of the movie, log on to the Internet and get it downloaded from the websites. Its a huge list of movies including the latest ones.
