By Philip Woods

Do you remember the long lines of customers waiting to enter consumer electronics stores when the Nintendo Wii first was released? However, the Nintendo Wii was more than just a "new gaming console." It was a brilliant technological achievement that further continued the pattern of excellence Nintendo was known for.

After a lull period after the Atari boom, Nintendo was a major factor in resurrecting video games in the 1980s. Some assume it would be another fad but it wasn't. They have been no lull periods and gaming consoles have been huge sellers to this day. Most recently, it is the Nintendo Wii that is among the greatest sellers and it has launched a new world of video game culture.

The use of the word "culture" is not used flippantly. These days, entire social groups have been devised around gaming and the Nintendo Wii is at the center of many of them. But, is there any other value to gaming on the Nintendo Wii beyond the stress reduction benefit it provides? Yes, gaming on the Nintendo Wii is a lot of fun!

A Nintendo Wii is a gaming console is also designed to play to the comfort level of the players as this contributes to the popularity of the game. This is a contributing factor into the development of a wireless component that makes the console appealing to various gamers.

Specifically, the Wii remote is a wireless controller that adds a unique new sphere to the process in which the game is played. This is a handheld device that is integrated into scores of gaming sessions allowing for a uniquely interactive experience. This most definitely sets the Nintendo Wii apart from its popular competitors in many ways. Again, this is another reason why the system remains so popular.

Again, the Nintendo Wii is among the most popular gaming systems in the business. It still holds a record as the best selling game console in history. The sales have exceeded the highly popular Xbox 360 which is also an enormously popular system that has sold millions of units as well.

Yes, the Nintendo Wii will certainly earn its place in the annals of gaming history. It is a great seller because it delivers - and exceeds - all expectations. The bottom line here is if you are considering a gaming console, the Nintendo Wii is probably the best one for your needs.
